Asbab Al Nuzul Sebagai Pendekatan Terhadap Istinbat Hukum Pada Tafsir Surah Al Baqarah Ayat 223 dan 229

Abstract

Al-Qur'an was revealed to provide guidance to humans towards the straight path, based on faith in Allah and His message. In addition, Quran tells about past events, present and future. Despite its general purpose, the lives of the Prophet's S{ahabah witnessed various events that required explanation of Islamic law. In this context, the Asbab al-Nuzulconcept emerged, where ayat al-Qur’an from the Quran were revealed specifically to answer questions or respond to certain events that were relevant to the current situation. Asbab al-Nuzulitself is an important part of the ‘ulum of the Qur'an which requires in-depth understanding for interpreters and researchers of the Qur'an. Study of Asbab al-Nuzulis necessary to understand the context and purpose of the verses of the Koran. This study, over time, has become an integral part of the science of ‘ulum al-Qur'an and can be used as an approach to deriving law from the verses of the Qur'an, as proven in the interpretation of Surah al-Baqarah verse 222 and 223 which connect the verse with events during the time of the Prophet.
