Abstract

The Community Service Activity entitled “Strengthening the Role of Families in Supporting Children's Transition from Early Childhood Education to Elementary School” was held on September 8, 2025, at RA Slemanan, Udanawu District, Blitar Regency. This activity aimed to increase parents' understanding of the importance of the transition period from PAUD to SD and to correct misconceptions that often arise about school readiness, which is often measured solely by reading, writing, and arithmetic skills (calistung). Through this collaborative parenting activity, parents were invited to understand that children's readiness encompasses cognitive, social-emotional, independence, and holistic learning readiness aspects. The activity was attended by 58 parents/guardians using interactive lectures, discussions, and joint reflections. The results of the activity showed an increase in parents' understanding and awareness of the importance of emotional and social support for children in facing the transition to elementary school. This activity also strengthened the collaboration between the school and families in building a positive learning environment. It is hoped that through this activity, a sustainable synergy will be built between teachers and parents in preparing children to be ready to learn happily, confidently, and enthusiastically to face the next level of education.
