Article Retraction & Withdrawal
Patria Educational Journal (PEJ) is committed to preserving the integrity, transparency, and reliability of the scholarly record. The journal follows internationally recognized publication ethics and adopts the retraction and withdrawal principles recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) .
Article Withdrawal
Authors may request the withdrawal of a manuscript only before it has been formally accepted for publication . A withdrawal request must be submitted in writing by the corresponding author, stating the reason for the withdrawal and confirming the agreement of all co-authors. Once a manuscript has entered the peer-review process, withdrawal requests will be considered only under exceptional circumstances and are subject to the approval of the Editor-in-Chief.
After a manuscript has been accepted for publication, withdrawal is generally not permitted except in cases involving significant errors, ethical concerns, or other extraordinary circumstances approved by the Editorial Board.
Article Retraction
A published article may be retracted if clear evidence demonstrates one or more of the following:
- Plagiarism or duplicate publication.
- Data fabrication, falsification, or manipulation.
- Serious errors that invalidate the research findings or conclusions.
- Ethical violations involving human participants or research misconduct.
- Copyright infringement or unauthorized use of copyrighted materials.
- Undisclosed conflicts of interest that significantly affect the integrity of the publication.
Retraction decisions are made by the Editor-in-Chief in consultation with the Editorial Board and, when appropriate, the reviewers or authors. Authors will be given an opportunity to respond before a final decision is reached.
If an article is retracted, the original article will remain available online to preserve the scholarly record but will be clearly identified as "Retracted" through a watermark and an accompanying retraction notice explaining the reason for the retraction. The retraction notice will remain permanently linked to the original article.
Corrections and Errata
If minor errors that do not affect the validity or interpretation of the research are identified after publication, PEJ may publish a correction (erratum or corrigendum) instead of retracting the article. All corrections will be permanently linked to the original publication to ensure transparency and maintain the integrity of the academic record.
The Editorial Board reserves the right to take appropriate editorial action in accordance with the COPE Core Practices and applicable publication ethics guidelines to ensure that all published content remains accurate, reliable, and trustworthy.
Articles Processing Charge
Patria Educational Journal (PEJ) applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) to support the costs associated with manuscript processing, double-blind peer review management, professional copyediting, layout editing, DOI registration, website maintenance, digital archiving, and online publication. The APC is charged only after a manuscript has been accepted for publication . There is no submission fee for manuscripts submitted to PEJ.
The publication fees are as follows:
- Submission Fee: Free (IDR 0)
- Article Processing Charge (APC): IDR 700,000 (for accepted manuscripts only)
- Peer Review Fee: Free
- Publication Fee: Included in the APC
- Online Access: Free (Open Access)
The APC must be paid after the manuscript receives an official acceptance decision from the Editorial Board. Payment of the APC does not influence the editorial decision, peer-review process, or acceptance of a manuscript. Editorial decisions are based solely on the scientific quality, originality, significance, and relevance of the submitted work.
All published articles are made immediately and permanently available through the journal's open-access platform, ensuring unrestricted access to readers worldwide. Authors will receive detailed payment instructions after their manuscript has been formally accepted for publication.
